Jesse's Discography

Link - Original Member of Moses Dillard and The Dynamic Showmen
As the first keyboard and organ player and the second original bass player, taught by Moses Dillard for the Showmen replacement bassist, I was pretty clueless about the business at age fifteen. It was all about the music and the dream of being successful.
We were all still in high school and just happy to be accepted. My point is that, for the record, I wrote most of the songs atribbuted to Moses Dillard: Pretty As a Picture, Go Away Baby, Soul Symphony(Jesse Boyce-Piano), I Feel It Coming(Bobby Marchan), Punchinella(Peabo Bryson), I'll Pay The Price, and Bring Your Dreams to Me (Peabo Bryson).
It was not until I left the band and returned to join Moses in Pensecola, Florida where I met Poppa Don that I realized that I had not been given credit for my music nor did I get paid. But I stayed with Poppa Don because he educated me as a writer and he treated me with fairness and respect. We cut a lot of hit records together.

The Fame Gang

I decided "to let it go" and to forgive Moses and moved on to Muscle Shoals where I was mentored by Rick Hall, Founder and CEO of Fame Records.  Rick and I liked each other after our first meeting and he asked me to come join the staff called the Fame Gang. We recorded a lot of hit records with a lot of infamous artist and recorded the first Fame Gang album sponsored by Capitol Records. Fame was a great experience.

I met Little Richard at Fame , work on his Rill Thing Album, a strictly southern funk project, and was offered the position of Bass Player. Then, I moved to Los Angelis and toured with Little Richard for thirty five years when he was working.
In the interum, I recieved a call from Jerry Wexler who had heard me on a session at Criteria Recording Studios, Miami Fla. He asked if I would consider moving back south to Miami. I told him that I would if Freeman Brown could join me as the Drummer and he agreed. I became a staff musician along with Dr. John, Freeman Brown, Benny Latimore and a great guitarist whos name I cannot recall. We recorded Jackie Moore, Dr. John, Duke Ellington, and many others. Jerry amd Tom Dowd were both great mentors to me in music business and production.

I then, move to Nashville where I invited Moses to join me just before I left Bottom & Company. He needed a fresh start. Dillard & Boyce began as a reconciliation partnership between two brothers who decided to be friends and be successful. Well, the rest is history and the story continues as I celebrate the best of our experiences....Things got much better with some maturity and spiritual growth.
